Common questions
The scan got an item or price wrong.
Long-press the item to edit or delete it, or tap Add Item. If the items don't add up to the receipt's total, Pie shows a warning so you can check.
I don't want to send photos to AI.
Pie reads receipts on your phone first and asks before sending one it can't read. Tap Not Now to check what Pie found yourself, turn off Use Claude for Hard Receipts in Settings, or tap Enter Items by Hand on the Split screen. Nothing is sent without your permission.
How are tax and tip split?
In proportion to what each person had. If you had 40% of the food, you pay 40% of the tax and tip. Shared dishes are split evenly between the people you tap, and every amount is worked out to the penny so the slices add up to the total.
What does PieSplit Pro add, and how do I restore it?
PieSplit Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription. It adds requesting money (each person, or everyone at once with a who-owes-what card), friends and tabs (what each friend owes across all your splits, with one request for the total and partial payments), trips (anyone can pay, and PieSplit works out the fewest payments to settle up), your whole History (free keeps your 3 newest splits; older ones stay saved) with iCloud sync, payment reminders, your own request message, several receipts in one split, and your own tip buttons. If you used PieSplit before version 2.0, PieSplit Pro is yours free. On a new phone, open Settings, tap PieSplit Pro, then Restore Purchases.
How do I request money?
Requesting money is part of PieSplit Pro. Open a split in History and tap Request next to someone's name. Venmo opens a request directly; for Cash App, PayPal and Zelle, add your username in Settings and Pie sends a message with your payment link or details.
How do I change my name or theme?
Tap the gear icon on the Split or History screen.
